Twelve Companies Named Exporters of the Year by ThinkGlobal
ThinkGlobal Inc. has awarded the 2009 Exporter of the Year Award to American companies in 12 business categories. ThinkGlobal, a print and online publishing company in Northampton, Massachusetts, publishes Commercial News USA, the official export promotion magazine of the U.S. Department of Commerce, along with other publications and websites. Commercial News USA is a catalog-style magazine that reaches 400,000 readers in 176 countries worldwide. Winners were chosen based on the total number of documented export deals completed in 2008, the total percentage increase in sales in 2008 compared to 2007, exports as percentage of total sales, the company’s commitment to exporting, the company’s commitment to customer service, and the company’s innovation and originality in marketing products or services.To be eligible for the award, the company must currently be exporting from the United States. The companies, their hometowns, the industry they are engaged in, and the category in which they won are as follows: Bio-Med Devices in Guilford, Connecticut designs, manufactures, and markets critical care and transportable respirators, ventilators, air-oxygen blenders, monitors, breathing circuits, and accessories. Bio-Med is the Exporter of the Year winner in the Medical/Scientific Products and Equipment category. Bio-Microbics, Inc. in Shawnee, Kansas manufactures wastewater and stormwater treatment systems for light commercial and residential markets. Bio-Microbics is the Exporter of the Year winner in the Environmental category. Cemen Tech in Indianola, Iowa is the world’s largest manufacturer of columetric concrete equipment, including mobile and stationary concrete dispensers. Cemen Tech is the Exporter of the Year winner in the Building/Construction Equipment/Hardware category. Greenfield World Trade, Inc. in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida supplies the global foodservice equipment market with equipment and related services, including design consultation, export documentation, warehousing, and parts. Greenfield World Trade is the Exporter of the Year winner in the Commercial Foodservice Equipment category. Industrial Motion, Inc. in Mooresville, North Carolina provides spare and replacement machine parts to U.S. companies that have manufacturing facilities abroad from warehouses and sales offices in Shanghai, Singapore, Delhi, and Chennai. Industrial Motion is the Exporter of the Year winner in the Industrial Equipment Services and Supplies category. Lifetime Products, Inc. in Clearfield, Utah is a world leader in the design and manufacture of lifestyle products such as outdoor furniture, storage sheds, backyard play systems, and sports equipment. Lifetime Products is the Exporter of the Year winner in the Consumer Goods category. Matthews Studio Equipment, Inc. in Burbank, California manufactures hardware and lighting control devices for the motion picture, television, photographic, and theatrical production markets. Matthews Studio Equipment is the Exporter of the Year winner in the Electrical/Electronics category. Meyer Industries in Midvale, Idaho manufactures and markets pest control for residential and commercial use, including The Rodenator, a humane alternative to pesticides in eliminating burrowing rodents such as gophers, groundhogs, prairie dogs, ground moles, and voles. Meyer Industries is the Exporter of the Year winner in the Agriculture category. Access USA Shipping in Bradenton, Florida, which does business as MyUS.com, provides international package forwarding services such as parcel receiving, storing, and consolidation. Access USA Shipping is the Exporter of the Year winner in the Business Services category. NOW International in Bloomingdale, Illinois serves the natural products industry with a range of dietary supplements, including herbs, vitamins, and minerals. Now International is the Exporter of the Year winner in the Health, Beauty, and Fashion category. Sign-A-Rama in West Palm Beach, Florida, one of five business-to-business brands of United Franchise Group, has franchise locations around the world that provide comprehensive sign and graphics services. Sign-A-Rama is the Exporter of the year winner in the Franchise category. Treatment Products Ltd. in Chicago, Illinois manufactures and markets automotive appearance products.
