Treatment Products, Ltd. in Chicago Wins Exporter of the Year Award
February 5, 2009 – Treatment Products Ltd. has received a 2009 Exporter of the Year award from ThinkGlobal Inc., publisher of Commercial News USA, the official export promotion magazine of the U.S. Commerce Department.
The Chicago company has marketed the Treatment brand of automotive appearance products since
it was launched in 1972. Private label manufacturing capabilities have created opportunities for the company to partner with many of the most established car care brands in the U.S. and abroad.
“It is with great appreciation that Treatment Products Ltd. graciously accepts the 2009 ThinkGlobal/Commercial News USA Exporter of the Year award,” said Jeff Victor, the company’s Vice president. “Our international customers now account for approximately 60% of annual revenue, and our products are distributed in more than sixty countries worldwide.”
Treatment Products Ltd. was first introduced to the global market in 1990 when it was part of a delegation of U.S. companies to Automekanika, a major international auto show in Frankfurt, Germany. The company’s international sales have grown progressively since then through a variety of sales and marketing strategies, including the creation of a network of international distributors, the aggressive promotion of ‘Made in the USA’ quality, product customization, attendance at international tradeshows, and a willingness to take advantage of services provided by government agencies such as the U.S. Department of Commerce that provide trade-related research and support.

Criteria on which winners were selected included the total number of documented export transactions completed in 2008, the total percentage increase in sales in 2008 compared to 2007, exports as percentage of total sales, the company’s commitment to exporting, the company’s commitment to customer service, and the company’s innovation and originality in marketing products or services. To be eligible for the award, a company must currently be exporting from the United States.
